ACT Chapter in Tucson/Marana AZ
ACT Chapter in Tucson/Marana AZ

(2) Our Chapter and Meeting Info

We are a local Tucson/Marana chapter of ACT for America, a grassroots national organization whose primary objective is to provide education to the public about the threat of radical Islamic ideology and Sharia Law.  Our chapter dislikes Islam Ideology, not Muslim people.

Our members have a thirst for knowledge about the whos, whys, and whats that are happening to our country, post 9/11/2001.  Our membership is well read on these subjects.  Many have researched hundreds of papers, documents and books relating to Islam's plan to Islamize our country.

Our chapter's primary purpose is to educate ourselves, and others, about the truth of radical Islamic Ideology, Islamofascism, and Sharia law and the dangers they present to our society. We also work to eradicate political correctness and multiculturalism.

Bio: Onyria Herrera McElroy

Onyria was born in Cuba & became a naturalized American citizen.  She came to the US in 1957 after her marriage to John McElroy in Havana.  She studied at the University of Havana with a degree in Humanities.  She also went to the University of AZ with a master’s degree (1970) & a PhD in 1981 in Romance Languages, Latin American & Spanish Literature.  She taught Spanish at North Carolina College, Madison, WS; Edgewood College; Tucson Pima College, University of AZ Medical College, teaching Medical Spanish – a course she created that was introduced in Tucson for the first time.  She created a published work in 1990, Medical Bilingual Dictionary, lst Edition by Little Brown & Co., 2nd, 3rd, & 4theditions published by Lippincott.  Last publications were Merriam Webster, a pocket edition.  Lectured at the Medical College of University of Miami to Latin-American medical doctors & at the University of CA in Santa Barbara to the School of Nursing.

Onyria returned to Cuba in 1960 & her parents left there in 1961.  Although she continued to research & receive information about Cuba, she decided she would not go back there as long as it was governed by people who did not allow for human rights.  She knew men & women who had been killed there or were in prison; families were divided.  She learned that 40,000 children had been sent to the US by an organization that had permission from their parents who did not want to see their children grow up under Communism. Some parents were able to join their children later but sadly others were not.

From President Lyle:

Col Jon Gold gave a super talk at our ACT Meeting last month on America’s 3rd World War.  He presented a fantastic set of power point slides.

After the meeting, Col Gold was asked for copies of his slides & for this one presentation we have uploaded his files to our web page, which you can view for free.  If you follow the steps below you should be able to view the file:

  1. On your computer, enter the chapter’s web page address (URL): www.acttucson.com.  The web page’s Main Menu with 11 items should then list at the top of the screen.

  2. Click on #11 “Power Point Presentations.” The screen should change, showing some information about Power-Point presentations including the link to the slide file.

  3. When the link is clicked on, the file should load automatically, with the first page shown, ready to view the remainder of the 119 slides.  Note --- for this to work, your computer will need MS Power-Point or equivalent already installed.

Good Luck!

Pres & Chapter Webmaster
